NUUFORM
Rachel Sperry was born in New York City and grew up all over New England before settling in Portland, Maine where she shares her home with two Karls (one a son and the other a husband) and a dog named Jenny. She earned a BFA in Printmaking from Washington University in St. Louis in 2013. Sperry launched her creative studio, NUUFORM, in 2014 and has evolved her practice over the years, encompassing a diverse range of creative projects from a knitwear line and editorial commissions to her current studio work. Her works have been exhibited internationally in Italy and across the U.S. and have been featured in publications like Mother Tongue Magazine, The New York Times Opinion, MAAKE magazine and Out of Eden’s Kitchen. The name of Sperry’s creative studio: NUUFORM, came from her father’s phrase that an invention needed to be New, Useful and Unobvious. When not working in the studio she is most likely running after her toddler.
